I have been so incredibly busy the past few weeks that I haven’t really had time to blog and I actually really missed it, so I thought I would do a quick ‘day in the life of’, without all the boring stuff like emptying the dishwasher, hoovering and what not. As Sunday was a beautiful day myself and Jake decided to go and have breakfast at Beer beach in Devon, which is one of my favourite places in the world. Both Jake and I used to go there all the time as children which is really nice and we have a lot of lovely memories there growing up. As my mum lives in Devon, we met her there and had a lovely breakfast at Ducky’s cafe. If you haven’t been to Ducky’s cafe, you MUST go there! It’s brilliant, you can literally eat your breakfast on the seafront. We got to Beer about about 9.30am – very dedicated on a Sunday morning I tell you. The sky was so blue and there were literally no clouds, although it was bloomin’ freezing as it was so windy. We had a delicious fry-up with a builder’s tea and just relaxed in the sun / wind.
You can see how beautiful it was from the photos. After breakfast we had a little wander around the shops and we treated ourselves to a beautiful painting by Mike Bernard. The painting was of Beer beach and used lots of different media such as collages, watercolour and oil paints. I instantly fell in love with it and persuaded Jake that it would look magnificent in our living room – which it certainly does! It was nice just to have a walk around in the sun and get some fresh air as well. We bought some fresh mackerel to take back to my parents for a BBQ – perfection.
I’ve taken loads of photos of mum’s beautiful garden, it’s full of colours and it’s nice to see some greenery after our chilly winter. We sat down to have a BBQ – mackerel cooked by Jake, and enjoyed some salad, crusty bread and prosecco! Now this is the way to spend a sunny Sunday.
It was a perfect Sunday spent with good food and good company – what more could you want. The sun is getting me so excited for sunny days and evenings full of BBQ’s and wine! Now back to reality and Monday mornings..
