After seeing hundreds of posts on Twitter and Instagram raving about how great Protein World’s new ‘Slender Blend’ was I thought I’d try it out and give it a go. I bought it directly from the Protein World website. It’s pretty good value and the tub is full to the top. I’ve noticed with other protein brands that it is generally only 3/4 full which I find really annoying. The Slender Blend was launched mainly for women looking to lose weight whilst also gaining more tone and muscle. It contains Whey Protein, Green Tea and Rasperry Ketones which all aid weight loss. It has 28.7g of protein per 40g serving. Each scoop is about 10g, and you are advised to mix 4 scoops with either milk or water. I tend to mix mine with almond milk and banana which is delicious, it’s a really versatile protein powder as you can add fruit and even vegetables.
The Slender Blend is low in fat and calories and does actually taste quite nice compared to other protein brands! I chose the Vanilla flavour, but they also sell Strawberry, Banana and Chocolate. In the past I have always opted for Chocolate flavour protein powder but it has never been nice!
The Slender Blend aims to keep you fuller for longer and helps you to avoid cravings. I am a serial snacker but this did keep me full for around 3-4 hours, and stopped me snacking! And as it is so sweet it also kicked my cravings for any sweets or chocolate as I felt I’d already had my fix. I’ve seen that a lot of people use the protein shake as a meal replacement e.g for breakfast or lunch but I tend to have mine either before or after I go to the gym as it will help me to build muscle more easily. I have seen that you can make protein pancakes using protein shake and bananas – this is something I am definitely excited to try.
